Karissa and Michael had the most beautiful wedding on an October day here in Oregon! Summer is a popular season to have your wedding, but there’s something about a cozy fall day when the leaves are changing colors that just adds a lot of magic to an already special occasion. Karissa and Michael held their wedding lakeside at Hawk Lake Venue in Carlton, OR.
Hawk Lake Venue — a beautiful lakeside wedding space!
I have to drop a few notes on the lakeside wedding venue Karissa and Michael held their ceremony at! As if the fall day wasn’t enough, this dreamy outdoor venue seriously just elevated the whole day. The gazebo was stunning, and getting to snap some portraits right on the docks of the lake was so beautiful. This is a great Oregon wedding venue in a quiet, private area!
Lakes have special significance for Karissa and Michael! Michael proposed to Karissa at a lake, and they had their first set of engagement photos taken near a lake as well. So, of course, their wedding had to be at the lakeside!! They also incorporated their labradoodle, Stella, in their celebration (and you KNOW I am all about dogs being part of your day).
A few special moments really stood out to me from this wedding — during their first look, Karissa didn’t want to see Michael until the right moment, so the bridesmaids surrounded him until they were both in place. Capturing the moment they both first saw each other made it so special. Second, I loved the uniqueness of their guestbook! Instead of a traditional book, they had a bench that their guests left notes on for them. What a cool touch!
I’m all about incorporating those special little things into your wedding, even if you want a traditional wedding! Karissa and Michael added just a few of those little things that they knew were really special to them, and it made all the difference in creating a memorable experience.
